Backlink monitoring that fits the way agencies work
Links are still one of the strongest signals in Google, and they change all the time: sites add links, remove them, and spam domains link without asking. Backlink monitoring keeps track of those changes for each client website, so you can report wins, win back lost links and clean up risky ones.
Add a client website once. Its top 1,000 backlinks are collected in about an hour and refreshed every month, or every week with the add-on. Everything sits next to the client’s audits, rankings and reports.

- Anchor text mix: brand, URL, generic and other
- Toxic and spam links, with a disavow file

Backlink monitoring FAQs
What is backlink monitoring?
Backlink monitoring keeps a regular check on the websites that link to a site, so you can see new links, lost links and risky links over time. In SEO Audit Software you add each client website once, and its backlinks are refreshed every month, or every week with the weekly updates add-on.
How often are backlinks refreshed?
Every month by default. Weekly updates are an add-on in Billing & plan. The first list for a new website is ready in about an hour, and the page shows when the last refresh ran and when the next one is due.
Which backlinks do you monitor for each website?
The top 1,000 backlinks of each monitored website, with the strongest link from each referring domain, sorted by authority. For each link you see the source page, the domain’s authority, the anchor text, follow or nofollow, the target page and the date it was first seen.
How do you find lost links?
At each refresh the new list is compared with the previous one. A referring domain that was linking before and is gone now is listed under Lost links, marked “Link removed” with the date of the refresh.
How are toxic links found, and can I disavow them?
Links with a high spam score are flagged as toxic. Review them, click Disavow on the ones you want to drop, then download a ready-made disavow.txt file and upload it in Google Search Console.
Can I check the backlinks of a competitor or a prospect?
Yes. The Lookup tab shows referring domains, backlinks, authority score, the share of follow links and the top linking pages with their anchors for any domain. Lookups are included on the Scale and Enterprise plans, and looking up the same domain again within 30 days doesn’t count again. The free trial shows sample data.
How do I share backlink data with a client?
Click Export CSV to download the backlink list with your current filter and search: referring domain, source URL, authority, anchor, follow or nofollow, first seen, toxic and target page. Your scheduled white label client reports cover the SEO audit summary, Search Console, Google Analytics, keyword tracking, leads and chatbot data.
